He appointed his son, Leonard, and his brother, William, as executors to his will dated 31 March 1882. The witnesses were William Welch of 5 Aylesbury Street, Wolverton, carpenter, and George Wildman, 11 Stratford Road, Wolverton, carpenter and joiner. This will was proved on 17 September 1891. He specified that he be buried in the churchyard at Renhold "as close to my father's remains as possible and let a headstone be erected to my memory". The sale of his property and effects was to provide for his wife, then at her death to be devided among his children, George, Leonard, Jesse, Peter, Amos, Alfred, Frederick, and Ann (wife of Charles Westley Wildman).
