1510 Between June 17 and September 9, 1789, the Midland District Land Board recorded a list of petitions from old settlers for Family Lands and the additional 'Bounty'. The Board recorded the following comments about Simon J. Cole: "Claiming 350 acres as Family Lands, besides the additional Bounty. It appears that Mr. Cole is entitled to the first part of his petition and that he hath yet not drawn or retained any part thereof. The Board therefore grant a certificate for 350 acres.
