The other half of the lot was granted to Lieutenant Paul Trumpour [spelled 'Trumpeur'] in the Land Board minutes.
Politics:
He was returned as member from Lennox and Prince Edward to the first Parliament of Upper Canada, which was convened by Governor Simcoe. "Because of his relicious scruples, for he belonged to the Society of Friends, he would not take the oath of office prescribed by law, and his seat was declared vacant."
Politics:
He took part in the first "town meeting" [township meeting] and signed the minutes of the meeting.
Land:
Philip sold this lot to Jonathan Clark of Hallowell. The Bargain and Sale instrument was registered in Picton and copied to the Prince Edward County land registrar's books on January 6, 1819. This lot later became 'lot 11, concession 1 Lakeside, Hillier Township' when Hillier township was formed from part of Ameliasburgh township around 1824. Philip was paid 105 pounds by Jonathan Clark for this lot of 200 acres. Philip's son, Daniel Bedell Dorland, witnessed to this transaction when the Bargain and Sale was registered on January 6, 1819.Philip married Elizabeth BEDELL. Elizabeth and died. The other original witness was Robert Hubbs. The Bargain and Sale was not registered until March 2, 1826 at Picton. It became instrument #1074 in the copybook pages 56 and 57. The witnesses to the 1826 registration were Betsey Dorland and Arnoldi Dorland. The land registrar for the District of Prince Edward in 1826 was James Cotter.

In 1826 the other witness was Arnoldi Dorland and the land registrar for the District of Prince Edward was James Cotter. The original 1813 witnesses were Robert Hubbs and Betsey Dorland. [Could the 1826 Betsey Dorland be Arnoldi's wife, Elizabeth Niles?]Children:
