He donated land for the Quaker Cemetery in Bloomfield, on plan 2, lot 95. "In the year 1817 John Bull and Jonathan Bowerman donated land to the Society [Society of Friends or Quakers] for the purpose of constructing facilities to satisfy the needs for a rapidly growing congregation. The 'Brick Meeting House' was used by the Orthodox Friends, who continued to hold services there until 1942."
