He married Lydia Mott about 1744 and Jane Richmond in 1757. With his wife Lydia Mott, he had 6 children: Timothy Bowerman, Elizabeth Bowerman, David Bowerman, Jane Bowerman, Hannah Bowerman and Sarah Bowerman.
