We finished the upper part, with a very large room at one end for a Court Room, with the stairs going down the outside; the rest in sitting and sleeping rooms."

"We built a house on No. 5, one of the farm lots, and rented the big house to Edward Lewis. He living in it until it burned down. Then we built another and rented it to Mr. McMicheal."

It was a nice place and he lived there until his family grew to be taken notice of; but there were so many yellow hookers, as they were called, he said he never would bring up his family to marry among them."
